Superfood protein bars – healthy homemade snack bar that you will love! Vegan and gluten free.
A few days ago, I took a look at a friend’s (hi Eran!) protein bar and I was like… This is full of protein ok but definitely not the best you can give to you body. He is gluten free and can’t have oats. He was also looking for something with a lot of protein and low sugar. After our conversation, I got inspired to create those bars: high in proteins, loaded with superfoods and low in sugar!
I have sugar cravings. I could lie to you and say I don’t but I could sweet all day. So between all the greens I am trying to eat, sometimes, I indulge myself with a little treats. Especially after a workout. These bars are highly loaded in protein! With all the superfoods in it, cocoa, seeds, nuts, coconut, dates… It’s a perfect snack before or after a workout. However, be aware that those bars contains calories even if full of superfoods!
This recipe has around 40g of protein for the whole batch. If you want to add more protein, do not hesitate to add 2-4 other scoops.
I order all my superfoods on amazon. It’s the best way to compare the prices and find good discount. I order them raw and unsweetened.
Dates are naturally sweet and add the perfect balance to those bars. After you blend them, they’ll turn into a paste easy to combine with other ingredients. You can switch any ingredient for another. This recipe offers an infinite combination possibilities and only takes a few minutes to prepare. You don’t like coconut? Fine, add more nuts! You don’t like hazelnuts? Fine, add more walnuts! And so go on.
